Thursday 19th August – bike **** – Two river – Orwell to the Deben
including lunch at Landguard – sunny periods.
With lighter winds today I could forget about windsurfing so usual morning,
exercises and gardening then I pack lunch and Mag and I head out on our
bikes at 12.30. Down through Langer Park and onto one of our favourites the
old pier at Landguard to watch the yacht action while having our yummy
picnic. There is actually a good breeze from the west blowing and you could
have foiled here but it’s nice to have a day off. It has been a day of
sunny periods and with the breeze in our faces we did not stay too long
before setting off through the nature reserve and along the busy prom with
loads of people enjoying a day on the beach, crowds not our favourite! Mag
then heads up Bet Hill as I continue to the end of the prom around to The
Dip and onto the Ferry taking a few pics on the way, well it is World
Photography Day apparently! Out along the quiet Deben River path turning
off at Kings Fleet up Marsh Lane with the combine still busy in a huge
cloud of dust! It was too far away to get any good pics as I reach Ferry
Lane, through the Grove and home to sort out my pics. Cuppa and rock cake
time, then we take our sons partner too the vet very nearly having an
accident in the van at a round about and it was not my fault either! Then
home for our favourite roast dinner and learn I have a pic on the BBC’s
Look east weather, always nice:)
